Google SketchUp Pro 6 is software that you can use to create, share and present 3D models. The Pro version of SketchUp provides extra functionality for people who need to export their work into CAD, rendering and other professional software applications. SketchUp Pro 6 also includes LayOut, a completely new program that lets you create complete presentations—paper and digital—from your SketchUp models.
Nobody starts with construction drawings. Design is a process of iteration and discovery: trying something, testing it, then trying something else. SketchUp is a tool for solving 3D problems quickly.
Work accurately. Need to make a wall nine feet high? With SketchUp Pro, you can be as accurate as you're ready to be.
You don't get paid for learning software. An intuitive user interface and extensive learning resources make SketchUp Pro much easier to learn than other 3D modeling software you may have tried—most people get up and running in a couple of hours.
Let there be LayOut. Only SketchUp Pro 6 includes LayOut, which we designed specifically for people who need to create 2D presentations from their 3D ideas. With LayOut, you can add title blocks, callouts, photographs and logos to your pages. When you're ready, LayOut lets you print high-resolution design packets and boards, export to PDF, and even give full-screen digital presentations.
Keep using your existing tools. AutoCAD user? SketchUp Pro 6 imports and exports both DXF and DWG. It also exports 3DS, OBJ, XSI, FBX, (take a breath), EPS, PDF, VRML, EPX, DAE and KMZ. No matter what subset of the alphabet your favorite software prefers, chances are you can use it with SketchUp Pro 6.
Make it sketchy. SketchUp's hand-drawn rendering styles let you show just the right amount of detail.
Figure things out. Use SketchUp Pro to test your design. Carry out shadow studies, calculate areas, and walk around your model—all without leaving SketchUp.
Even pros need support. Google SketchUp Pro 6 users have access to email technical support, so help is never far away.
New Features
Google SketchUp Pro 6 lets you create 3D models from photographs, match existing models to background photos, render sketchy effects and fog and mark your models with 3D text, logos and watermarks. With the new styles palette, you have easy access to a collection of display settings, which you can save and share. You also have greater control, with new features like enhanced modifier keys that let you perform operations like “copy” while you move, rotate or push/pull.
If you use Google Earth, Google SketchUp allows you to place your models using real-world coordinates and share them with the world using the 3D Warehouse.
